Additional Info

A personal note from your race director, Joyce:

It is with the heaviest of hearts that I have sat this week, mesmerized and mentally paralyzed by the devastating destruction of Hurricane Irma. While Irma is surely not the only natural disaster we have endured these several weeks and months, it is the one that most monumentally effects me in a very profound personal way.

My father called the island of Saint Maarten home for nearly a quarter century. It was on Saint Maarten that the high strung construction developer from New York could finally relax and truly be himself. He found peace in her sun-filled embrace, and camaraderie in the island breezes that propelled his sailing hobby.

That peace is now shattered, those island breezes turned into deadly 185 mph winds that have devastated the island, family, friends, and neighbors.

Having lived in Florida for years before moving to Las Vegas, I also have very strong personal ties to the state, with family and friends still there, also devastated by Irma.

As I sit here in Las Vegas in utter horror, I feel helpless. In turning to what I do best, directing races I find strength to peel myself away from the news and take action, to do my tiny share in the effort to help our hurting loved ones. Please join me in the effort.
