2/2/2021 Update: I am thrilled to announce we have our approved permit IN HANDS from the covid task force!

2/10/2021 Update: Late February 9 I received the very disappointing news that even if the Governor allows an increased gathering limit as of the event date, the BLM will not have enough time to make those changes. As a result, we will still be subjected to the current gathering limit. This means will need to adjust many things about the event, namely start times and groups.

2/10/21: RUNNERS REGISTERED PRIOR TO FEBRUARY 9: Yes, the race is still on and your space in the race secure. Please review the website in its entirety as many changes are being made. Please monitor your emails, including your junk mail. HALF MARATHONERS: YOUR START TIME ASSIGNMENTS HAVE BEEN EMAILED TO YOU very late Feb 10/ very early Feb 11.

2/10/21: WAIT LIST: We WILL be able to invite some additional runners in the various start times. I need to first give priority to the registered runners to choose their preferred start time; then I can open up to additional registrants in the remaining start groups. I will likely be able to open the 5K afternoon group first to approx 35 runners; then in the coming days the half marathon to approximately 55 runners. Unfortunately no additional marathoners can be invited. Please understand it kills me to have to turn away so many runners. This caps us at around 30% of last year, with exponentially higher costs and work. If you are on the wait list, please monitor your emails (and junk mail), as initially you will be given 24 hours to complete your entry; and as the race nears, less time will be given, as we work expeditiously to fill any remaining spots.

2/10/21: NEW ENTRIES: We WILL be able to invite some additional runners in the various start times. I need to first give priority to the registered runners, then wait list, then will open registration for any remaining spaces to others. Please continue to check back on the "Register Online" tab above.

**ALL race distances include technical shirt, finishers' medal, post race food, overall/ age group award eligibility, onsite EMS, aid stations, and a fun time!

***Virtual race includes technical shirt, finishers' medal, bib number, and USA Shipping. New since 2021! Join us anywhere, any time, and run any distance! Shipments will be sent between February 25 and March 5, 2021.

Course

Majestically framing the west side of the valley, Red Rock Canyon is the most notable natural treasure in the Las Vegas area. Federally designated as a Backcountry Scenic Byway, the 13 mile paved scenic drive traverses some of the Mojave Desert's most stunning vistas. Sandstone formations, desert vegetation, and wildlife bring this place to life. The birthplace of Calico Racing! The trailheads "Calico Hills" inspired the namesake and dictated the company logo colors. viewtherace_120x65
